3Chairs values our relationship with you and recognises the importance of respecting and protecting your personal information and privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal information you provide to us (or data we collect about you from other sources) will be processed (meaning collected, stored, and otherwise used) by us. We endorse the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) detailed in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the Privacy Act). The APPs dictate the way in which we gather, utilise, divulge, keep, protect and dispose of your Personal Information.

Personal Information is data or an opinion that identifies a person. Examples of Personal Information we gather include names, addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. This Personal Information is obtained in many ways including membership applications, renewal notices, interviews, correspondence, by telephone, by email, via our website 3chairstherapy.com, from media and publications, from other publicly available sources and from third parties. We do not guarantee website links or policy of authorised third parties.

We gather your Personal Information for the primary objective of providing our services to you, and marketing. We may also use your Personal Information for secondary objectives closely associated with the primary objective, in instances where you would reasonably expect such use or disclosure. You may unsubscribe from our mailing/marketing lists at any time by contacting us in writing or unsubscribing at the bottom of the newsletter/communication.

Where reasonable and workable to do so, we will gather your Personal Information only from you. However, in some instances we may be given information by third parties. In such a case we will take reasonable actions to ensure that you are informed of the information given to us by the third party.

If you register for a sponsored event, then we may share your data with event sponsors, where we have informed you that we will do this at the point at which you register for the event.

Our site may contain links to third-party websites and/or services. Such external links do not mean we endorse the website or service, or the quality or accuracy of information presented on it. If you decide to visit such a website or service, you are subject to the privacy policy and terms and conditions of that service or website, and not 3Chairs’s terms. However, most of the Personal Information is or will be stored in client files which will be kept by us for a minimum of 7 years.

We only share your Personal Data with trusted third parties who use the same level of care in processing your Personal Data as we do. That being said, we cannot guarantee that your Personal Data will always be secure due to technology or security breaches.
